"Forget selecting an enemy, and watching auto-attacks unfold in front of you. TERA requires you to run around, jump, dodge, precisely time combos and special abilities, the whole action game package. I think I loved this. The combat was fast, exciting, tricky, all things that can be lost on typical MMO combat."
TERA2buy.com has published the extended version of TERA's Gamescom 2010 trailer featuring additional footage and entirely new voice acting. This version was showcased at the TERA booth during PAX 2010. As Amira from TERAFans.com points out: "The extra few seconds of footage show a massive army of Argons preparing for battle. It's pretty awesome, so check it out!"

As MMOs evolve we see more classes being able to do more things. The Lancer does act as a tank in terms of defense, but also can throw in some charges, stabs, and knock down abilities to help his party as a whole. One area in TERA where this becomes critical is in the knock down ability. When a boss is knocked down, players can still attack.

TERA's developer and publisher in Korea
Every skill has a different range and special tricks to use it, new players might find this difficult at first, and often you'll find your hits vanishing in the air right one step before your foe. However, near the reticle you should see a distance meter, which is really useful for checking before using these powerful-if-used-well spells of death!
4 skills out of 6 were linked together in a combo. The fact of the matter is, you have to be really careful and always know which skill to use in every situation. Hitting the combo hotkey might not be always the best solution. About PvP, the first duels were all about a hit and run because of the initial lack of crowd control skills. (I guess initial only)
Regardless, BHS and NHN, TERA's developer and publisher in Korea just wrapped up their server stress test a few hours ago. This stress test came almost 8 months after KCBT3, included over 20,000 testers, and tons of changes and additions to the client. Hopefully we will hear about the results of the test soon, from how the servers faired to how the players felt the game has improved.
You may notice that when females with long hairstyles try on armor with a detailed collar, their hairstyles automatically become modified up-dos to avoid clipping. This is an awesome new feature and each long hairstyle has a different, appropriate up-do to go with it!
Even though I don't speak Korean, the Island of Dawn experience was profoundly improved. I didn't spend too long at any particular questing hub so I felt like I was moving and exploring at a comfortable, fun pace. Armor upgrades were abundant-- I got around 3 or 4 new chest pieces during my time on the Island, most with the same model in different colors and my level 10 chest piece was an entirely new model. These upgrades felt rewarding and they made what quests I could understand worthwhile.

So I don’t just use my 2 dodge skills to dodge
So I don’t just use my 2 dodge skills to dodge, I use stuff like long jump attack and charge slash to avoid attacks. And nowadays my new found friend, shadow clone protect me from harm’s way.
Also the reason I put my survivability on such a high priority is because of my role during party play, as my death means all my party being in confusion or total chaos, so I always try my best to stay alive. I think as a tank I think the safety of the whole group is the most important so I always tank with my brother’s lancer assisting me.
We switch the main and off tank role depending on how the groups of mobs are positioned so we can move along quickly and effectively so we can handle any situation with a smooth experience because at the end a Warrior is still being controlled by a person and a Lancer can’t do everything.
I don’t really get what this patch was about, and I can’t for the life of me understand why they did this. This is not right. Because of all the Warrior buffs and Lancers nerfs, we are really slowly falling.I’ve always played Lancer with the thought that I was the most important role in the party but now a Warrior replacing me along with damage, then who would play a Lancer? I know I wouldn’t.
Truthfully, I was kind of scared about this patch. I saw other classes were nerfed to balance with us, and some people fail to realize the good change with the Warriors, even with the patch.Many people say this patch was to improve solo play but I think otherwise. I still think Warriors need balancing and because of the current flaws Warriors need help from other party members to stay alive.

was playing a Slayer primarily
I can't speak for the 360 controller but I did primarily use a dual action logitech controller. All buttons were able to be bound and the options section made it very easy to change your keybinds. Unlike FFXIV, the controller had presets and was ready to go. I didn't need to use anything other than the TERA client to configure the controller.

Back to where we were: collecting the last of the Island of Dawn quests before the Tainted Gorge. Seems that a courier named Chione's gone missing and we need to track her down along with the supplies she was taking to the Tainted Gorge outpost. We meet up with her on the path to the Gorge, but she's got quite a story to tell.
Community Event Players will remember that this is also the time you receive the Sorscha's Reckless Challenge quest, the first major group quest (and an awesome test of a group's mettle before you leave the island.) There's two ways to do this quest: at Level 8 when you receive it, or later when you return from the Tainted Gorge. We opt for the latter, mostly because I feel strange playing Anung after changing characters for the CPE, and I don't trust myself to actually finish it and not wipe.
We find Chione and she tells us her tale of the crashed transport vessel. Seems some terron bandits have made off with some of her cargo, and there's even more of it spread around in federation supply crates. It's off to the races—err, the monsters and cargo collection.
